Professor Jay

Professor Jay, born Joseph Haule, is a legendary Tanzanian hip-hop artist, songwriter, and former Member of Parliament known for his powerful lyrics, social consciousness, and storytelling ability. Rising to fame in the early 2000s with hits like “Nikusaidiaje,” “Zali la Mentali,” and “Jina Langu,” he became one of the pioneers of Bongo Hip-Hop, using music to address real-life issues such as poverty, corruption, and everyday struggles.

Beyond music, Professor Jay made history by entering politics and serving as an MP, further proving his commitment to representing and uplifting the people. He remains one of Tanzania’s most respected and influential hip-hop icons.
